Though modest in size, it is encouraging to see growing interest in energy efficiency in South American countries. The expo featured only some of the leading multinational companies in the industrial refrigeration sector, while many national companies were present, primarily focused on solar energy and biomass. I was particularly struck by the large number of companies exhibiting solar panel solutions. None, however, presented a compelling solution to the energy storage problem, so high-performance batteries remain a challenge.<\/p><p>Aunque con un tama\u00f1o m\u00e1s que modesto, es muy bueno comenzar a ver un inter\u00e9s creciente en la eficiencia energ\u00e9tica en los pa\u00edses de Sud America.<\/p><p>La expo cont\u00f3 con la presencia de s\u00f3lo algunas de las empresas multinacionales l\u00edderes del sector de la refrigeraci\u00f3n industrial y pudo verse mucha presencia de empresas nacionales, principalmente dedicadas a la energ\u00eda solar y de bio masa.<\/p><p>Me llamaron particularmente la atenci\u00f3n la gran cantidad de empresas exponiendo soluciones con paneles solares.
